HBM Prenscia increases footprint in reliability engineering services
TUCSON, AZ (October 19, 2017) – HBM Prenscia has confirmed today the acquisition of the privately-held The Omnicon Group, Inc. (“Omnicon”), through its parent organization, Spectris plc. Combining Prenscia’s technology with Omnicon’s recognized expertise in reliability design and testing will enable a more complete understanding of system and asset reliability performance that is of critical importance to our customers in reducing life cycle costs.
Omnicon focuses on reliability analysis and services for safety critical, mission critical and revenue critical systems supporting the design and development of reliable electronic and embedded software systems; detecting and mitigating risks; executing design objectives and maintaining process and revenue flows. Through this acquisition, Prenscia extends its capabilities to provide an attractive single and unique source combining extended technology to address reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) for complete systems – through a combination of software and services.
“This is a major milestone in our drive to offer industry-leading engineering solutions for managing risk and safety,” says Brian Dabell, Executive Vice President of HBM Prenscia. “The addition of Omnicon widens our area of expertise in reliability and enables us to deepen the software and electronics related service capabilities of Prenscia. We now have the opportunity to support wider and deeper customer relationships through the ability to deliver more integrated reliability engineering solutions to meet growing customer demand.”
Omnicon will retain its current location in Hauppauge, New York, USA; operating as a unit within Prenscia. Omnicon will become a key part of Prenscia’s growing engineering services segment; offering RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) engineering consultancy services (including the key growth area for design, development and testing of reliable and robust software, electronics, firmware and systems), working alongside and complementary to Prenscia’s nCode and ReliaSoft products.
